Our river-front property at 121 Alexander Road in West Columbia has evolved. Once home to a bustling New Orleans-themed restaurant, the property now serves as the Midlands’ premier event venue: Stone River. Nestled on the banks of the Congaree River, Stone River provides a scenic backdrop for rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate events, holiday parties, social functions, and more. With a small but mighty team of passionate folks, Stone River is ready to help you plan the perfect event!
Meet Our Team
Christina Metts, LMSW
Managing Partner
Originally from Texas, Christina Metts, received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker and has a deep passion for helping and assisting others. She is also a commissioned officer in the South Carolina National Guard as a Military Police Officer. Christina finds joy in watching her daughter play high school and travel soccer as well as going on adventurous nature walks with her younger son.
Valerie Thompson, M. Ed.
Managing Partner
A Columbia native, Valerie Thompson, received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina. A former 4th grade teacher who spent 8 years dedicating her passion to serving students in Richland 2. When not helping others make lasting memories at Stone River she enjoys spending time with her growing family by participating in trips to the Riverbanks Zoo, local parks, and all other family friendly activities Soda City has to offer.
